MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Summer Percussion Orchestra will present a free concert at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.
In its second year, the ensemble is comprised of 25 alumni and current students. The stage will be filled with marimbas, xylophones, vibraphones, tympani and numerous other percussion instruments.
This dynamic program will feature composers Georges Bizet, Albert Williams Ketelbey, John Phillip Sousa, John Draws and Hans Zimmer. Additional works were arranged by alumni Genaro Cantu and Arturo Martinez.
Admission to the performance is open free to the public.
