Janice Hart

Janice Hart, age 82, of Ironton, MO, died on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 4:50 a.m. in the Baptist Homes of Arcadia Valley in Ironton, MO.

Janice was born on June 27, 1942 in Sterling, IL, a daughter of Edwin Francis and Gloria Rose Naftzigger Lamberson. She married Richard Lowell Hart in 1961 in Sterling, IL. He preceded her in death on April 22, 2026.

Janice graduated from Sterling High School in 1960 and went on to work in the continuing education department at Western Illinois University. A dedicated and compassionate individual, she was an active member of Maple Avenue Christian Church and deeply involved in her community, always ready to help those in need. Janice also found joy in working outdoors, tending to her garden, and baking.

Survivors include three children: Rebecca Hart of Arcadia, MO; Richard J. Hart of Hillsboro, MO; amd Brett A. (Andrea) Hart of Savage, MN; four grandchildren: Grace Hart of Los Angeles, CA; Jonas Hart of Washington DC; Spencer Hart of St. Peters, MO; and Landon Hart of St. Peters, MO; a sister, Sharon Lamberson of Dixon, IL; two brothers: Robert (Judy) Lamberson of Fort Atkinson, WI and Thomas (Sue) Lamberson of Madison, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Janice was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, IL.
