MACOMB – Nearly 56 percent of Macomb-area schoolchildren qualify for free/reduced fee meals during the school year, and to help fight food insecurity during the summer months, the Macomb Community Unit School District No. 185, along with Genesis Garden in Macomb, is providing breakfast and lunch options through the district's food service provider, ARAMARK.
Through June 27, the Macomb School District is providing breakfast from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Edison, Macomb Middle and Macomb Senior High schools. Menu items can be found at tinyurl.com/ yc4yaytp. Please note, due to projects taking place within Lincoln School, meals are not available for pickup at Lincoln; however, families may pick up meals during the times and the schools listed above. All children 18 years and younger, in grades kindergarten through 12th, are eligible for summer meals; children must be present with an adult to receive meals.

'The summer food program provides many of our families with nutritional meals throughout the summer. We have partnered with Genesis Garden and Aramark to provide this service for families in need of assistance. This collaborative partnership has had a positive impact on both the receiving families and the individuals preparing the meals,' MCUSD 185 Superintendent Mark Twomey said.
For the remainder of the summer, once a week from June 30-Aug. 8, Genesis Garden in Macomb will offer seven free breakfasts and lunches per week per child for pickup (by a parent/guardian) at the Macomb Middle School. Any child (2-18 years of age) not receiving meals from another summer meals site is eligible for the meals provided by Genesis Garden.
