General Macomb DAR celebrated Flag Day on Saturday, June 14th at The Lamoine. Ladies attended from Chief Shaubena (Roseville) and Shadrach Bond (Carthage) Chapters.
Eileen Worthington, Chapter Regent, welcomed the members and guest in attendance. Pledge of Allegiance to the United States Flag was given by Betty Kaspar and Tina Belz led the American’s Creed and Preamble to the Constitution. Chaplain Beth Nelson gave the prayer.
Mayor Inman gave greetings to those from outside of Macomb and encouraged everyone to take a stroll through Chandler Park to observe “Flags of Love”. Greetings were also given by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War representatives, Larry Zeigler and Tom Manuel.
Following the luncheon, Sarah Curtis introduced the speaker, Keko Martinez, a retired Marine.
