After 5 years of planning, Brett Schnarr along with members of the Township Committee of Adair, have announced that a new Veteran's Memorial will be constructed in Adair at the Hodge Herndon Memorial Park. A dedication is being planned for September or October and will be announced at a later date.
Harrison Monument Co out of Quincy is donating the design, placement, platforms and labor, while Kevin Trotter has agreed to donate the cement work for the sidewalk.
The Monuments and other cement work will be paid for by the Township Committee and local donations.
Applications are currently being accepted for the memorial. Any honorably discharged veteran is eligible to add his/her name to the memorial.
Applications may be picked up at the Adair Post Office, Table Grove State Bank and the Adair Restaurant.
The fee is $100 until July1, 2025, after that the charge will be $150. Names will only be added twice a year after that date.
You may mail your completed application along with payment to Brett Schnarr, Township Trustee, at 22425 N 700th Rd., Table Grove, IL 61482.
