MACOMB FARMER’S MARKET

Woodforged

Anthony Woodford has everything planned out.

Having just graduated from Macomb High, Woodford has decided to take a “Gap” year, before going to John Woods College to study sonography.

Woodford certainly won’t be bored during the Gap year. This hard-working entrepreneur has already built a small business called “Woodforged”. The business name is a play on Woodford’s last name and the fact that a business was “forged”.

Anthony is one of the new vendors at Macomb Farmer’s Market selling handmade crafts, gift items, earrings, bracelets, and even shampoo bars and lip balms. The business arose from the encouragement Woodford received after giving some of Woodford’s items as Christmas gifts.

Anthony, while in high school, was awarded a $1200 National FFA Grant. With that money Woodford has built three “Little Libraries” and has three more to finish. These sharing libraries are placed around communities to encourage reading and book swapping amongst both children and adults.

Anthony also sells the Woodforged products at the Spellbound store on the East side of the Macomb Square.

Look for Woodforged’s booth at both the Thursday and Saturday Macomb Farmer’s Market. This industrious young crafter loves the community sharing at Farmer’s Market and finds it to help build experiences and business knowledge.
