Donnie Klinedinst

Donnie Klinedinst, 76, of Macomb, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Wesley Village in Macomb. He was surrounded in love with his children, Eric and Sara by his side.

He was born on July 1, 1950, the son of Luther and Nina I. (McLaren) Klinedinst. He married Debra Ann “Debbie” Webster on March 8, 2003, in Bushnell, Illinois. She preceded him in death on July 19, 2024.

Donnie is survived by his three children, Sara (Kyle Markley) Kluthe of Macomb, Illinois, Eric (Kathy) Klinedinst of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Neil (Jennifer) Klinedinst of Bushnell, Illinois; six grandchildren, Brittany, Sarah, Brad, Kaden, Casey and Justice; 2 great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Octavia; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Debbie; and one brother, Dennis Klinedinst.

Donnie spent much of his working life in the construction industry, where he proudly owned and operated his own business. He took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend his time, talents, and skills to a worthwhile project. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Donnie was in the Boy Scouts where he became an Eagle Scout, he also served in the National Guard as an Artilleryman, reflecting his dedication, commitment, and strong character. He lived a life marked by hard work, service, and a willingness to help others.

Donnie found great joy in working in his yard and, most of all, spending precious time with the people he loved most— his children and grandchildren. He was the kind of dad and grandpa everyone could only hope for: loving, devoted, and always ready to make lasting memories with his family. He cherished taking his grandchildren on bike rides throughout Bushnell, going sledding, visiting parks, and enjoying mower rides, where he bravely let the little ones take the wheel. These simple yet unforgettable moments were a reflection of the love, laughter, and happiness he brought to their lives. Donnie was a devoted father and grandfather whose love will live on in the hearts of his family forever. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know him.

Beyond his love for his family, Donnie and Debbie shared a deep love for their community and were instrumental in the restoration of the historic Bushnell Freight Depot. Debbie had a vision of what the depot could become, and together with Donnie and numerous dedicated volunteers, they devoted countless hours of their time and hard work to bringing that vision to life. Their efforts helped preserve an important piece of Bushnell’s history for future generations to enjoy.

In recognition of their many contributions to the community, Donnie and Debbie were honored with the Key to the City of Bushnell and were selected as Grand Marshals of the 2018 Bushnell Fall Festival Parade. These honors reflected the lasting impact they made on the community they cared so deeply about.

Donnie will be remembered for his hard work, generosity with his time, and dedication to his community. The legacy he and Debbie created together, particularly through their work at the Bushnell Depot, will remain a lasting reminder of their commitment to making Bushnell a better place.
