The Bushnell Woman’s Club met Monday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 at the Cole Street Coffee House. Kea Runyan had many different types of coffee and teas for the ladies to sample plus the Coffee House’s famous coffee cake. Mrs. Runyan explained the many ways of processing coffee beans, special water and 200 degree water temperature needed to make good flavored coffee. After the ladies finished sipping and eating, they adjourned to the Library meeting room for the monthly Bushnell Woman’s Club meeting.
JoEllen Pensinger opened the meeting with eleven ladies answering a roll call question, “What is your favorite thing about fall?” The minutes and treasurer’s reports were read and approved. The ladies would like to continue as RR Crossing guards for the Fall Festival next year. Plans were discussed for the Ladies bake sale they have every year at the VFW Auxiliary Holiday Bizarre. This year it will be on Sunday, December 6. They decided prices will be $15 for a plate of two dozen cookies and $20 for a plate of specialty items. New member recruitment was discussed. Jane Zarello reported the Library’s Wednesday afternoon program was going great.
The meeting adjourned and the hostesses, Gayla Sullivan, Donna Barclay and JoEllen Pensinger served Apple cake, Pumpkin Trifle, Halloween Chex mix, apple cider and water.
The next Bushnell Woman’s Club meeting will be Monday, Nov. 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bushnell Library meeting room. Hostess will be Laura Chaffee with co-hostesses Karen Cameron and Ruth Ann McGrew.
Respectfully submitted, Jada Wetzel, Secretary.
