Antique & Collectibles Club Meeting

Antique & Collectibles Club Meeting

Antique & Collectibles Club Meeting will be held Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at Macomb City Hall, 232 East Jackson. The program will be on "Sheet Music from WWI: Telling Stories of the Times" This month's program promises to be intriguing on several levels. Becky Parker, a retired professor in WIU's Communication Department, will present a visual display of original sheet music covers. This presentation will narrate stories from the WWI era, showcasing the beautiful illustrations featured on the sheet music. Becky will show how this music influenced culture at the time.

Becky and her husband, Sam, are avid collectors of a variety of antiques and memorabilia. They moved to Macomb in 1965, where they both taught at WIU. After their arrival, attending auctions and yard sales became a significant part of their lives, which will be evident in this program titled "Sheet Music from WWI: Telling Stories of the Times." The presentation will seamlessly integrate their professional backgrounds: Becky's communication expertise and Sam's artistic talent.

Meetings are open to the public. We hope you can join us!
