Adults living with chronic health conditions have a new opportunity this fall to build confidence, strengthen daily habits, and learn practical tools for long‑term wellness. University of Illinois Extension will offer Take Charge of Your Health, a free, evidence‑based webinar series held weekly from Oct. 14 through Nov. 18, with sessions each Wednesday from 1-3:30 p.m. Register at: go.illinois.edu/ TakeChargeFallSeries Over six weeks, participants will learn strategies to manage pain, communicate effectively with health care providers and loved ones, and use supportive measures for long-term disease management. Trained facilitators, who deal with chronic issues themselves, guide you through interactive discussions and skill-building activities.
Topics include:
Appropriate exercise to maintain and improve strength and endurance Fall prevention Healthy eating Better breathing techniques Proper use of medication Working effectively with health care providers Classes are October 14, 21, 28, and November 4, 11, 18.
This program does require full attendance and is intended for adults aged 18 and older living with chronic conditions.
