Youth for Christ Western Illinois at 1224 Maple Avenue in Macomb recently installed new signage on the west side of the building to let Macomb Middle School and Macomb High School students know that the organization is there for them. According to Executive Director Todd Rodeffer, the local Youth for Christ welcomes every teen.
“We do our best to share God’s love with them and teach them the truths of the Bible. Most young people today do not know the history of our Founding Fathers in America, let alone the history of God and His people,” Rodeffer explained. “We believe that they should have the opportunity to make an informed decision to follow Jesus if they want to do so. But how will they be able to make an informed decision if they are not informed? That is why Youth for Christ exists.”
On Mondays, the organization, which also has a campus in Bushnell, offers “Campus Life” nights, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for middle schoolers and from 7:309:30 p.m. for high school students. Macomb’s YFC offers $3 pizza lunches to students on Mondays, and a free pancake breakfast for every Macomb High late start morning.
