I remember when conservative Republicans believed in free markets. Today’s tariffs destroy the benefits of free markets. Tariffs now control the cost of important things we need. Yet tariffs are what our Illinois Republican congressional reps uphold.
Conservation on farmland has long been supported by conservative Republicans, Yet Mary Miller voted for a Farm Bill that seriously cuts funding for the Environmental Quality Incentive Program, the Conservation Stewardship Program and staffing for conservation assistance in our communities. Bailing out Argentina beef producers certainly does not support American farmers and ranchers.
President Trump and Illinois congressional reps spent $5 million dollars to cover four Washington D.C. horse statues in gold. They want to use National Park money for a Donald Trump Arch that blocks the view of Arlington Cemetery. Destroying the existing bomb-proof White House shelter for an extravagant ballroom is not smart or conservative. The Iran conflict has cost over $45 billion of our tax dollars without any investment from partner countries. That’s how our Illinois Republican congressional reps want to spend our money.
Mary Miller’s Big Beautiful Bill cuts Medicaid by nearly $1 trillion and cuts food assistance by $186 billion. Our federal tax dollars are being used to dress up Washington D.C., fight a war alone and fail to help us and our communities.
