Reverend Jonathan Ford Morris, Jr.

Reverend Jonathan Ford Morris, better known as J. Ford Morris, was a clergyman in the Dutch Reformed Church. He was born in 1801 in Somerville, Somerset County, New Jersey.

He was the son of Dr. Jonathan Ford Morris and the grandson of Major Joseph Morris, a soldier in both the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War. Major Morris served with Col.

Daniel Morgan’s Raiders. He was shot at White Marsh and died from his wounds in December 1777.
