The Macomb High and West Prairie High School boys golf teams headed to Galesburg Saturday to play in the 52nd Streaks Invitational at Bunker Links Municipal Golf Course.
Macomb finished fourth out of 10 teams with a score of 318, while West Prairie was ninth with a 359.
Sophomore Eli Griffith led Macomb with a 73 on the 5,864-yard par 71 layout to finish fourth out of 58 golfers.
Junior Sam Helling was 15th with an 80, followed by freshmen Cohen Anderson (18th, 81) and Brady DeWeese (24th, 84).
Freshman Ryker Allensworth shot an 86 and junior Kollin Knupp a 90 to round out the MHS scores.
For West Prairie, sophomore Tyson Carnes led the way with an 86.
Freshman Ethan Percy was next with an 88, followed by sophomore Holden Coplan (92) and senior Braden Coplan (93).
Rounding out the scores for the Cyclones were junior Cade Chambers (95) and freshman Keegan Siemens (104).
Quincy Notre Dame won the team title with a score of 301.
Erie-Prophetstown was next at 303, followed by Galesburg High (314), Macomb High and Quincy High (318).
Rock Island Alleman was sixth with a 326, followed by Peru St. Bede (329), Burbank Reavis (345), West Prairie and Abingdon- Avon (451).
Individually, Erie-Prophetstown’s sophomore Grayson Johnston earned medalist honors, finishing with a one under-par 70.
QND senior Grant Lepper was second at 72, while sophomore teammate Noah Kasparie finished at 73, along with Griffith.
The Bombers head to The Links in Jacksonville for Illinois High School Class 2A Regional competition on Wednesday.
Joining the Bombers and host Crimsons will be Canton, Limestone, Lincoln, Quincy Notre Dame, Springfield H.S. and Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin.
Class 2A Sectional play will be Oct. 5 at Spring Lake Country Club in Quincy.
Qualifiers from Jacksonville, along with those from regionals in Galesburg, Alton Marquette and Belleville Althoff will take part.
For West Prairie and Bushnell-Prairie, those teams will head to Coyote Creek Golf Club in Bartonville for IHSA Class 1A Regional play on Wednesday.
Illini Bluffs is the host. Joining the Cyclones and the Spartans in that regional will be Abingdon-Avon, Biggsville West Central, Brimfield, Elmwood, Farmington, Illini Bluffs, Knoxville, Monmouth-Roseville, Monmouth United, Peoria Christian, Peoria Heights (individual), Princeville, ROWVA/Williamsfield and Stark County.
Class 1A Sectional on Oct. 5 at Kellogg Golf Course in Peoria. Qualifying players from regionals in Streator (Woodland), Dwight and Petersburg will also be part of sectional competition.
In all classes for golf, members of the first, second, and third place teams advance to sectional play.
In addition, the 10 best scoring individuals that are not members of a qualifying team shall advance to the sectional tournament.
