James A. Smith, 87, of Macomb passed away at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at the Lamoine Assisted Living Center in Macomb.
He was born on September 29, 1938 in Rushville to Russell and Juanita Daly Smith. He married Kathleen Smith on March 27, 1973 in Maryland. She passed away on June 12, 2024.
He was also preceded in death by his parents. He was a government employee for foreign services. He was an Army veteran.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private burial of ashes will be held in Rushville Cemetery.
