Bethel Baptist Church attenders rang the church bell following the Sept. 20 worship service in observance of Constitution Day.
The observance commemorated the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787. Church officials scheduled the bell ringing for Sunday morning to encourage broader participation.
The General Macomb Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution invited area churches to participate in “Bells Across America,” a nationwide commemorative event.
