Others Say Daughters Treated Poorly, Intimidated
At Monday’s Macomb Community Unit School District No. 185 meeting, a near standing-room-only crowd was present, a relatively rare occurrence for the monthly meetings. The reason? Macomb High School Volleyball Coach Hillary Humes.
During the public comments portion of the meeting, Humes, who has served as a coach in the district for six years, told the Board she felt as if she was being forced into resigning her position as coach, and that a proper – and fair – investigation into the allegations of player mistreatment did not take place.
On Wednesday morning, Humes officially submitted her official letter of resignation as the MHS Volleyball head coach to Superintendent Mark Twomey. Both Humes and Twomey confirmed that the resignation was submitted and accepted.
