The Macomb High varsity volleyball team returned to action Tuesday, heading to Carthage to face Illini West in a Prairieland Conference South Division contest.
The Bombers won the first set 25-20 before the Chargers rallied to win the final two sets 25-20, 25-21 in winning the match.
Macomb slipped to 1-1 in Prairieland South play, while Illini West improved to 12-5 overall, 2-0 Prairieland South.
Stat leaders for the Bombers included the following: Aces – Jersee Mills, 4 Kills – Reva Koeppen, 20 and Mills, 12 Assists – Anistyn Lovell, 46 Blocks – Mills, 2 Digs – Myleigh Lovell, 24 and Anistyn Lovell, 22 The Bombers played at Lewistown (6-11) Wednesday evening, returning to the win column with a 25-18, 25-13 victory.
Stat leaders for the Bombers included the following: Aces – Myleigh Lovell and Anistyn Lovell, 2 each Kills – Mills, 9 and Koeppen, 8 Assists – Anistyn Lovell, 24 Blocks – Ashtyn Shoopman, 2 Digs – Myleigh Lovell and Mills, 6 each MHS (7-8) returns to Prairieland South Division play on Sept. 29, hosting Bushnell-Prairie City (0-12, 0-1) before hosting Southeastern (15-1) the following evening.
On Oct. 1, the Bombers head to The Shoebox in Monmouth to face Monmouth-Roseville (8-7).
