The Macomb High girls golf team squad began a busy final week of the regular season Monday, hosting Monmouth United, and Havana at Gold Hills.
Monmouth United edged past Macomb 189-192 with Havana finishing third at 251.
Playing on the 2,425 yard par 35 back nine United’s Paige Christianson captured medalist honors with a 42, finishing one stroke ahead of Macomb’s Taylor Mann (43) Other scores for the Bombers included Reese Watson, 45 (fourth place) and Kennedy McGraw and Grace O’Hern, 52 (tie for sixth) Emrey Seward shot a career-low nine-hole score with a 54, while Mullen Butcher also carded a 54.
The Bombers hosted Illini West in their final home meet of the season on Wednesday at the Macomb Country Club with the visiting Chargers recording a 176-195 victory.
Playing on the 2,613 yard par 36 front nine, Charli Wisehart of Illini West was meet medalist with a 40, one shot ahead of Macomb’s Mann (41).
Watson was next for MHS with a 46, followed by McGraw (51) and Emma Rigg (57).
Rounding out the Bombers scores were O’Hern (58) and Seward (59).
In JV play, Lily Schmalshof posted a score of 67, while Braelyn Powers carded a 72.
The team is scheduled to face Illini West on Thursday at the Carthage Golf Club before heading to Galesburg on Saturday to play in the Streaks Invitational at Bunker Links.
