The Macomb High girls golf team finished fourth out of 13 teams at Saturday’s annual Macomb Invitational held at Gold Hills Golf Course.
The Bombers finished with a team score of 342. Quincy Notre Dame captured the team title with a low score of 299.
Quincy High was next at 323, followed by Illini West (334) and MHS.
Monmouth United was fifth (368), followed by Rock Island H.S. (394), Havana (447), Geneseo (461), Mercer County (479) and Kewanee H.S. (487).
Canton, Pittsfield and West Hancock did not field full teams and did not figure in the team scoring.
Individually, playing on the 4,902 yard par 70 layout, sophomore Taylor Mann toppeed MHS, finishing fifth out of 64 golfers with a score of 75.
For Mann, it continued her solid recent play as it became her new career-low 18-hole score.
Sophomore Reese Watson was 11th for MHS with an 81, followed by freshman Kennedy McGraw (87, 18th) and senior Mullen Butcher (99, 28th).
For McGraw, it was a new career low 18-hole score. Rounding out the MHS varsity scores were Emma Rigg (110) and Grace O’Hern (116).
Also representing Macomb on a secondary squad were Emrey Seward (113), Braelyn Powers (127) and Lily Schmalshof (130).
Three players from team champion QND finished among the top four.
Nancy Scholz won medalist honors, finishing with a three under-par 67.
Quincy High’s Alexa Mosley was second with a 73, followed by QND teammates Natalie Druffel and Olivia Scholz, who carded 74s.
Following Mann in the individual standings were Elle Sanderson of Pittsfield (76), Paige Christianson of United (78), Claire Degrave of Geneseo (78) and Priya Wear and Audrey Sullivan, both from Illini West, with 79s.
The Bombers were scheduled to return to Gold Hills Monday afternoon to face Havana, Monmouth United and Rockridge.
