A Night at the Cabaret

Listening and singing along to your favorite Broadway hits and radio classics is a staple of a good night out—and doing it for a great cause makes the harmony even sweeter.

The Western Illinois University Department of Theatre and Dance will host its Senior Cabaret beginning at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19 at The Wine Sellers (121 S. Randolph St.) in downtown Macomb.

The event serves as a special showcase and fundraiser for WIU’s musical theatre and performance seniors, along with talented friends and accompanist Sharon Nott. Over the course of the evening, graduating students will perform a polished selection of musical theatre numbers and popular songs they have refined throughout their collegiate careers.

Proceeds raised during the evening will directly support the seniors’ upcoming trip to the Chicago Industry Showcase, an essential launchpad where graduating performers present their work before casting directors, talent agents and professional theatre companies.

Admission to the cabaret is free, with a “give what you can” donation policy at the door. Guests can enjoy beverage selections from The Wine Sellers while supporting the next generation of stage talent.
