The West Prairie/Southeastern High School cross country teams headed to South park in Quincy Tuesday to run in the Quincy Notre Dame Runnin’ Raider Invite.
In the varsity boys race, WP/SE finished fifth out of nine teams with 113 points.
Quincy High topped the field with a low score of 19 points, followed by Troy-Buchanan (93), Monroe City, Mo. (101), Beardstown (102) and WP/SE.
Individually for the Cyclones, Ayden Lacey finished 10th out of 77 runners. He completed the three-mile course in a time of 18 minutes, 47.5 seconds.
Milo Rodeffer was 21st (20:21.5), followed by Ezra Bithos (32nd, 21:47.0), Payton Totten (33rd, 21:52.0), Connor Griswold (41st, 22:34.0) and Ian Fentem (45th, 23:04.5).
Piasa Southwestern’s Thor Springman won the race with a time of 16:31.1.
The WP/SE girls had just four runners and did not field a full team.
Brynlee Finch led the way, finishing 35th out of 65 runners with a time of 27:29.5.
Alice Heinzel was 40th (28:07.5), followed by Emmalyn Wilson (54th, 31:25.4) and Chloe Cutsinger (60th, 34:24.4).
Quincy High’s Peyton Kuhl won the race in a time of 19:37.9.
Two WP/SE runners also participated in the JV boys race. Jacob Foust finished 21st out of 33 runners with a time of 27:30.6, while Cashton Shipman was 31st (31:26.9) Quincy High’s Dominic Oenning won the race with a time of 18:57.7.
