Catherine Marie Bainter

72, of Macomb

Catherine Marie Bainter, 72, of Macomb passed away at 9:50 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2026 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born in Galesburg on January 12, 1954 to John L and Catherine Marie Pecharich Ross. She married Randy Bainter on October 8, 1977. He survives.

Also surviving are two children, Erin Bainter and Jason Bainter, both of Macomb; two grandchildren, Sydney Bainter and Madelyn Decker, both of Macomb; three brothers, Steve (Glenda) Ross of Anamosa, Iowa, Michael (Jonetta) Ross of Surprise, Arizona and Richard Ross of Ozark, Missouri; three sisters, Merilee (Carl) Cain of Branson, Missouri, Susan (Bill) Kampbell of Rockvale, Tennessee and Nancy Ross of Galesburg and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Cathy has lived all of her married life in Macomb. She worked for WalMart as a cashier for many years retiring in 2023. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking and spending time with her family.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday September 24, 2026 at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb.

Memorials may be made to the HSMC New Animal Shelter or St. Jude’s.
