It started with a small group of women, an idea, and zero dollars.
It grew into an extraordinarily special event that no one expected.
The community of Colchester showed up in force for ZIP Code Day on 6-23-26. They purchased t-shirts, ornaments, stickers and post cards. Business sponsorships flowed in, quilt raffle tickets went quickly, food trucks sold out, volunteers stepped up and community spirit was everywhere.
The Colchester District Library was chosen to be the recipient of the proceeds from the celebration, and we are overwhelmed by the generosity and support given to us by the community. The encouragement and belief in us means so much.
A library is more than a building filled with books. It's a vibrant community center--a place that is open to everyone and is made stronger by the people who support it. Every bit of that support allows us to create opportunities, connect people, inspire learning and provide a safe place where everyone belongs.
