The annual Bags for Boobs Fundraiser at Slup's Bar & Grill on Main Street in Blandinsville will be held beginning at 2 p.m. this Saturday (Sept. 19). The event is sponsored by Slup's owner Bradon Finch and co-chair Katie Little, along with several Blandinsville residents and organizations.
A Bags Tournament kicks off the day at 2 p.m., with registration beginning at 12:30 p.m. The cost to take part is $40 per team, which includes a meal. Twenty- four teams will be hosted. To sign up, stop by Slup's or call (309) 652-3822.
The day will include a silent auction, 50/50 drawings, raffles and t-shirt sales. Bucket Fish will perform from 3-7 p.m., and a community meal (homemade lasagne) will be served from 4-7 p.m. (while quantities last).
A new feature this year beginning at 7 p.m. is a dessert auction, featuring famous locally-made desserts: Dottie Elliott's Cheesecake, Katie Little's Ice Cream, Steve Silberer's German Chocolate Cake, Bonnie Stokke's Pies and Goodies from Lam's Kitchen.
Last year, the group raised $11,000 for Linda's Fund at McDonough District Hospital.
