The Macomb High girls tennis team posted an 0-3 record Saturday as it competed in a four-team meet hosted by Metamora High School.
The Bombers were defeated by Peoria Christian 4-1.
Singles results were as follows: No. 1 - Sophie Hansen, Macomb defeated Lauren Trout, Peoria Christian, 6-4, 1-6, 13-11.
No. 2 - Selah Stubbs, Peoria Christian defeated Isabella Gage, Macomb, 6-4, 7-6.
Doubles results were as follows: No. 1 - Kennedi Dewitt and Izzie George, Peoria Christian defeated Maria Bice and Elanah McFadden, Macomb, 7-5, 6-2.
No. 2 - Ella Crow and Elsie Springer, Peoria Christian defeated Lily Winbigler and Conlee Magee, Macomb, 6-0, 6-0.
No. 3 - Natalie Gens and Betsaida Zavala, Peoria Christian won forfeit.
Macomb was defeated by the Maroa-Forsyth co-op 4-0.
Singles results were as follows: No. 1 - Emma Knecht, Maroa-Forsyth defeated Hansen, Macomb, 2-6, 6-0, 1-0 (6).
No. 2 - Lauren Lehane, Maroa-Forsyth defeated Gage, Macomb, 6-3, 6-4.
Doubles results were as follows: No. 1 - Katherine Nilles and Alexis Nilles, Maroa-Forsyth defeated McFadden and Bice, Macomb, 6-0, 6-0.
No. 2 - Aurelia Cole and Riley Hackleman, Maroa-Forsyth defeated Magee and Winbigler, Macomb, 6-1, 6-0.
Host Metamora -defeated Macomb 5-0, Singles results were as follows: No. 1 - Alexis Mogul, Metamora defeated Hansen, Macomb, 6-4, 2-6, 10-5.
No. 2 - Gianna Getz, Metamora defeated Gage, Macomb, 7-5, 4-6, 10-7.
Doubles results were as follows: No. 1 - Olivia Weldon and Alison Lieson, Metamora defeated Bice and McFadden, Macomb, 6-2, 6-1.
No. 2 - Mia Emery and Anna Little, Metamora defeated Magee and Winbigler, Macomb, 6-4, 7-5.
No. 3 - Lydia Thoren and Avery Dries, Metamora won by forfeit.
Prior to Saturday’s event, the Bombers headed to Pekin on Sept. 10 for dual meet action, recording a 4-1 victory.
The meet was originally scheduled for Sept. 9 but pushed back a day by rain.
Singles results were as follows: No. 1 - Hansen, Macomb defeated Abby Hall, Pekin, 6-4, 6-1.
No. 2 - Gage, Macomb defeated Paige Thompson, Pekin, 6-1, 2-6, 1-0 (8).
Doubles results were as follows: No. 1 - Taylor Baldi and McFadden, Macomb defeated Elicia Jackman and Ella Bonnette, Pekin, 6-4, 6-2.
No. 2 - Grace Jones and Layla Clow, Pekin defeated Bice and Deena Mangalaraj, Macomb, 6-2, 6-2.
No. 3 - Scarlett Brooks and Gwen Severs, Macomb defeated Mallory Roepenack and Lainey Gardner, Pekin, 7-6 (5), 2-6, 1-0 (8).
The Bombers were scheduled to return to action Monday, hosting Palmyra, Mo. for varsity and JV competition. On Tuesday, the team heads to Peoria to face Peoria Manual and Peoria High.
