Reading is fundamental, and two Macomb-area organizations – and a Macomb school - are making sure that the love of reading is instilled in local children at a young age.
The Friends of the Macomb Public Library and Altrusa of Macomb recently donated $1,500 from each organization to the monthly book sponsorship at MacArthur Early Childhood Center. Through the program, the school gives a book to every child, each month during the school year.
'Reading is such an important part of education, and we love to help children build their home libraries,' said Kristi Reusch, MacArthur principal.
