Antiques & Collectibles Club of West Central Illinois will meet Wedndesday, Sept 16, 2026 at 7:00 pm in the Community Room of Macomb City Hall, 232 East Jackson Program: Learn about Collecting Baseball Cards This month's speaker, Mark Twitchell, will share insights on collecting baseball cards. He is well-known in our local sports card collecting Community as the host of the Macomb Sports Card Show, which takes place twice a year.

Mark began collecting baseball cards in 1980, took a break in 1995, and returned to the hobby in 2015.

Many of us remember collecting baseball cards from packages of bubble gum, although few may recall the early 'T' cards produced by tobacco companies starting in the 1900s. These baseball cards were originally offered as advertising premiums. Collecting cards remains a fascinating hobby for both young and old alike. Join us as Mark explains why baseball cards continue to dominate the national pastime and capture the enthusiasm of millions of collectors.
