Remembering 9/11 Through the Eyes of Students
Macomb Middle School students explored the events of September 11, 2001, and the lasting impact of that day. The following reflections capture the lessons they found most meaningful and the reasons those lessons resonated with them.
The most important thing I learned about September 11, 2011:
• Is how many people’s lives and their family lives got affected by this tragic event.
Claire L.
• Is that everyone was helping people to safety because it shows that if people work together everything works better. Morgan
• It affected people many years later, and it led to changes such as better security measures. Ben B.
• I learned that there was a fourth plane and that everyone on that plane sacrificed their lives to save others. Jennie G.
• Is that it is ok to have trauma because it can be hard to forget something so tragic.
Bailey S.
