WP/SE Cross Country Hosts 2nd Annual Invitational

The West Prairie/Southeastern High School cross country teams hosted the second annual Cyclone Invitational Tuesday afternoon at Argyle Lake State Park.

In the boys competition, WP/SE finished second out of four teams with 47 points.

Beardstown topped the field with 30 points, followed by WP/SE, Quincy Notre Dame (70) and Monmouth United (83).

Cyclone runner Ayden Lacey topped the 39-runner field, winning the three-mile race with a time of 17 minutes, 45.61 seconds.

Milo Rodeffer was next for WP/SE, finishing third with a time of 19:28.12.

Mason Sorrells was 12th (21:14.34), followed by Ian Fentem (14th, 21:17.45) and Ezra Bithos (20th, 21:29.46), Rounding out the WP/ SE results were Connor Griswold (21st, 21:33.52), Michael Lynn (27th, 23:35.69), Jacob Foust (33rd, 26:20.41) and Cashton Shipman (36th, 27:12.35).

In the girls event, WP/ SE finished second with 49 points.

QND took top team honors with a low score of 27 points. WP/SE was next, followed by Beardstown (51). United did not field a full team and did not figure in the team scores.

Layla Dallefeld topped the Cyclones, finishing sixth with a time of 25:04.04.

Brynlee Finch was seventh (25:28.65), followed by Alice Heinzel (13th, 26:39.25), Emmalyn Wilson (14th, 27:13.20), Daylee Smith (22nd, 29:42.95) and Chloe Cutsinger (25th, 31:23.95).

United’s Hayven Rundle topped the 33-runner field, winning the race with a time of 19:35.72.
