Three Macomb neighborhoods recently raised more than $5,500 for the Macomb Band program while competing for the chance to host a neighborhood parade by the Macomb High School Marching Bomber Band as part of the band’s annual March-a-Thon.
On the morning of August 29, members of the drumline and color guard performed brief demonstrations as fellow band members collected donations in three participating neighborhoods: south of Edison School, Meadowbrook, and Georgetown. With nearly $2,200 in donations, the neighborhood south of Edison School claimed this year’s victory.
Residents of the south-of-Edison neighborhood will be treated to a special performance by the full Marching Bomber Band on Saturday, September 12, at 3:30 p.m.
The celebration will continue at 4:45 p.m. with a free community concert in front of Macomb City Hall. The concert will offer the community a preview of the band’s fall show and serve as a thank-you to the entire community for its continued support of the Macomb Bands.
The 2026 March-a-Thon was made possible through the generosity of The Music Shoppe, the event’s corporate sponsor. Proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will help the band program purchase new beginner instruments.
