Runners from Bushnell-Prairie City and West Prairie/ Southeastern headed to Big Creek Park in Canton Saturday morning to race in the Canton Invitational.
In the varsity boys race, WP/SE finished fourth as a team with 83 points.
Deer Creek-Mackinaw won top team honors with a low score of 43 points.
Illini Bluffs (64 points) was next, followed by Pekin (73) and WP/SE.
Sophomore Ayden Lacey led the Cyclones, finishing third overall with a time of 18 minutes, 35.2 seconds in covering the three-mile course.
Senior Payton Totten was next for WP/SE, finishing 11th with a time of 20:03.2. Junior Mason Sorrell was 22nd (22:04.5), followed by sophomores Milo Rodeffer (28th, 23:00.7) and Ian Fentem (30th, 23:14.4).
Sophomore Ezra Bithos was 31st for the Cyclones (23:15.7), followed by freshmen Connor Griswold (32nd, 23:17.0) and Jamisen Gooden (45th, 25:39.3); sophomore Michael Lynn (47th, 26:26.5), junior Jacob Foust (60th, 34:10.5) and freshman Cashton Shipman (62nd, 34:57.4).
Also in the varsity boys race, B-PC senior Logan Joiner finished 42nd overall with a time of 24:59.3.
Deer Creek-Mackinaw senior Noah Burrell won the race with a time of 17:41.3.
The varsity boys race included 63 runners from 10 schools. In the varsity girls race, West Prairie/Southeastern finished fourth as a team, scoring 87 points.
Pekin won the title with a low score of 18 points. Canton was next with 53 points, followed by Deer Creek-Mackinaw (81) and WP/SE.
Sophomore Brynlee Finch paced the Cyclones, finishing 23rd with a time of 26:31.3.
Freshman Layla Dallefeld was 26th (27:46.0), followed by freshmen Alice Heinzel (29th, 28:18.5), Emmalyn Wilson (37th, 29:38.2) and Daylee Smith (46th, 31:58.8) Sophomore Chloe Cutsinger rounded out the WP/SE results, finishing 47th with a time 32:25.5.
Pekin senior Morgan Coker topped the field of 52 runners, completing the race in a time of 19:53.0.
