The Macomb High JV volleyball squad posted a 4-1 record to capture second place in Saturday’s United JV Volleyball Tournament at Monmouth.
The Bombers posted a 4-0 record in pool play.
They rallied to defeat host United 19-21, 22-20, 15-8. The Bombers then defeated ROWVA/Williamsfield 21-14, 21-4; Canton 21-9, 21-10 and Ridgewood 21-15, 21-7.
In the title match, Macomb lost to Princeville 21-7, 21-11.
The JV Bombers are now 5-2 on the season. The team will host Brown County Thursday before returning to tournament action Saturday, heading to Mendon Unity for competition.
Joining the Bombers and the host Mustangs at the event will be Southeastern, Monmouth-Roseville, Payson-Seymour, Illini West, Beardstown and Brown County.
