McDonough County Retired Teachers Meet

The McDonough County Retired Teachers Association prepares to kick-off a new year on Sept. 11. MCRTA meetings are at 9 a.m. on the second Friday of September, October, November, March, April, and May at Trinity Lutheran Church in Macomb. All retired certified staff members of public and private schools, colleges, or universities and spouses of deceased members shall be eligible for active membership in the McDonough County Retired Teachers’ Association. Spouses of members, retired school secretaries, retired school nurses, and retired paraprofessionals shall be eligible to join the local unit with full membership privileges. MCRTA has scheduled exciting and informative speakers for this year’s meetings. The organization gives support to local non-profit organizations, volunteers at local schools, annually awards a scholarship to a deserving teacher candidate at WIU, and enjoys the fellowship of other former teachers at the meetings and other social events throughout the year. Membership is free the first year of retirement. Every member receives the MCRTA newsletter, an exciting and informative publication. If you wish to join the McDonough County Retired Teachers Association, simply show up on Sept. 11 at 9 a.m.
