Robert Wiley, age 82, of Solon, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at his home in Solon. He was born June 12, 1943, to Robert M. and Iola Jaynes Wiley. He was united in marriage April 27, 1968, in Peoria, IL, to Jody (Huston) Wiley, she survives.
Surviving to mourn Robert’s passing is his wife, Jody Wiley, 1 son: Joseph Robert (Alison) Wiley, of Ankeny, Iowa, 1 daughter: Jody Jean (Greg) Wiley-McKenna, of Kirkland, Washington, 3 grandchildren: Connor McKenna, Henry Wiley, and Harrison Wiley, and 1 sister, Denise (Joel) Johnson, of Champaign, IL.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother: Boyd Wiley, and 1 sister: Carol Grady Robert served the country in the United States Navy, where he was an electronics Technician. After his time in the Navy, he was an amateur radio operator. His last job was working at the bookstore at the University of Iowa. He loved computers, talking about cars, and motorcycles. Most of all Robert loved his family dearly.
A graveside service will be held at Mt. Auburn Cemetery on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 A.M, with Pastor Jim Clayton. Jones Mortuary in Colchester is handling arrangements for the family. Condolences and memories can be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com
