The West Prairie High School volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Lady Suns Classic, while Bushnell-Prairie City lost at Knoxville in recent action.
On Tuesday, West Prairie opened pool play with a 25-23, 25-22victory over Mendon Unity.
Statistical leaders for the Cyclones included the following: Josie Hodges – 8 service points and 15 set assists Niah Zimmerman – 11 kills, 9 digs and 2.5 blocks Alyvia Barkley – 4 kills and 6 digs Madison Adams – 3 kills Ashlynn Kelley – 2.0 blocks Payton McGrew – 2.5 blocks Madison McClure – 6 digs On Wednesday, the Cyclones were defeated by Barry Western 25-18, 23-25, 15-8.
The Cyclone (5-4) were scheduled to wrap up pool play Thursday against Payson-Seymour before rounding out tournament play at Augusta with a pair of matches on Saturday.
On Sept. 7, West Prairie is slated to host Biggsville West Central.
Meanwhile, Bushnell-Prairie City was defeated by Knoxville Tuesday evening 25-12, 25-15.
Originally scheduled to be played at Bushnell, the match was moved to Knoxville, due to no air conditioning in the B-PC H.S. gym.
