The Macomb High girls tennis team opened the home portion of its 2026 season on Aug. 27, dropping a 6-3 decision to visiting Peoria Christian.
Singles results were as follows: No. 1 - Kennedi Dewitt, Peoria Christian defeated Sophie Hansen, Macomb, 6-0, 6-0.
No. 2 - Izzie George, Peoria Christian defeated Isabella Gage, Macomb, 6-3, 6-3.
No. 3 - Ella Crow, Peoria Christian defeated Taylor Baldi, Macomb, 6-1, 6-3.
No. 4 - Lauren Trout, Peoria Christian defeated Elanah McFadden, Macomb, 6-3, 6-4.
No. 5 - Maria Bice, Macomb defeated Elsie Springer, Peoria Christian, 6-4, 6-4.
No. 6 - Deena Mangalaraj, Macomb defeated Natalie Gens, Peoria Christian, 6-1, 6-1.
Doubles results were as follows: No. 1 - Dewitt and George, Peoria Christian defeated Hansen and Gage, Macomb, 6-0, 6-4.
No. 2 - Baldi and McFadden, Macomb defeated Springer and Crow, Peoria Christian, 0-6, 6-4, 11-9.
No. 3 - Selah Stubbs and Betsaida Zavala, Peoria Christian defeated Bice and Mangalaraj, Macomb, 7-5, 6-3.
MHS is now 2-1 in dual meet competition.
The Bombers have a pair of home meets scheduled this week.
The team is slated to host Quincy Notre Dame on Tuesday before also playing host to United Township on Thursday.
