Memorial Medical Clinics is pleased to announce the addition of a second behavioral health mobile unit, Memorial Medical Clinic Mobile. The original mobile unit launched in the fall of 2024 and served seven local schools. Due to increased demand, a second unit is launching in the fall of 2026, and together the two mobile units will serve 13 school locations throughout the region.
Additionally, the program has grown from one provider to three providers to meet the needs of patients.
“The results we’re having, the statistics, are just mind-boggling,” said Gavin O’Neil, LCSW, who played an integral role in launching the original program. “We went from our regular counselors seeing patients in clinic at around 62 percent, and now the mobile unit has a 90 percent attendance rate. In the first year, we saw over 700 patients and in the second over a thousand.”
Memorial Medical Clinic Mobile brings vital behavioral health services to students ages 4-18. The mobile unit meets students where they are: directly at the schools they attend. The mobile unit team treats patients with a variety of needs including anxiety, autism, depression, ADHD, emotional support, trauma-informed care, and more.
The second mobile unit was funded by a grant from The Tracy Family Foundation.
Since its launch, Memorial Medical Clinic Mobile has received widespread acclaim. It has been featured in the news many times, and the program has received awards and recognition, including the 2025 Community Project award from the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN).
“We have an incredibly creative Behavioral Health team that really wanted to do outreach and saw a tremendous need in the community in terms of how we could better reach our children,” said Ada Bair, Memorial Hospital CEO. “The community impact of this program reflects our vision to lead with innovation and serve those at every stage of life.”
Memorial's Mobile Medical Units service 13 communities in the area, including West Prairie South, West Prairie North, La Harpe, Illini West, Southeastern High, and Elementary schools.
Appointments for the mobile clinics are available without referrals, and services will be billed to insurance as if the appointment occurred at Memorial Medical Clinics.
Financial aid will be provided for families in need, ensuring everyone can access care.
