The Humane Society of McDonough County, in partnership with the McDonough County Animal Shelter, held an adoption/ meet-and-greet event Sunday afternoon on the east lawn at Macomb Hy-Vee. According to HSMC Director Bonnie Smith-Skripps, four of the animals present had interest from potential families, and one adoption application was filed for another. The event was held to showcase some of the wonderful animals available at the Macomb-based shelter, which is at capacity, Smith-Skripps said. Foster families - and adopters - are desperately needed, she added.
