The Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Macomb, Western Illinois University, Spoon River College, and Macomb School District, will host the 2026 Downtown Block Party from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Chandler Park.
The community-wide event invites Macomb residents, Western Illinois University students, families, and visitors to come together for an evening celebrating the businesses, organizations, and people that make the Macomb community special.
The Downtown Block Party will feature a variety of free activities and entertainment for all ages, including live music, a foam party, fire truck spray pad, inflatable mini golf, a petting zoo, snow cones, balloon animals, face painting, giveaways, and free Macomb T-shirts (while supplies last).
Attendees can also take part in the Chick’s Lip Eating Contest, adding a little friendly competition to the evening.
The event is designed to showcase the people, businesses, organizations, and community resources that contribute to Macomb's vitality while providing a welcoming and fun environment for everyone.
