Seeing early events spoiled by stormy weather, the Macomb High girls golf team was able to complete a pair of competitions this week.
On Tuesday, the Bombers hosted United in dual meet action at the Macomb Country Club with the Bombers posting a 207-208 victory.
Playing on the 2,613 yard, par 36 front nine, United’s Paige Christianson captured medalist honors with a 43.
Macomb’s Taylor Mann finished runner-up, posting a 45. Reese Watson was third overall with a 50, followed by Kennedy McGraw with a 52 Rounding out the scores for Macomb were Mullen Butcher (60), Emrey Seward (60) and Grace O’Hern.
It was the first round of varsity competition for McGraw, Seward and O’Hern.
In JV play, Lily Schmalshof posted a score of 67, while Braelyn Powers recorded a 75.
On Wednesday, the team headed to Metamora to take part in the Redbird Classic.
The Bombers finished ninth out of 13 teams with a team score of 375.
Dunlap won the team title with a score of 313. Host Metamora was second with a score of 336, followed by Quincy High (345), Peoria Richwoods (348), Bloomington Central Catholic (350), Morton (359), Peoria Notre Dame (360), Dunlap “B” (373) and Macomb.
Following the Bombers in the team standings were Washington (429), Eureka (431), Geneseo (456) and Champaign St. Thomas More.
Playing on the 4,939 yard, par 71 layout at Metamora Fields Golf Club, Mann led the way for Macomb, finishing eighth overall in shooting an 82.
Watson finished 13th overall with an 85, followed by McGraw (41st, 98) and Emma Rigg (60th, 110).
Dunlap’s Sydney Hunt won medalist honors, carding a two under par 69. Runner-up was Caroline Braucht of Bloomington Central Catholic with a 74.
The Bombers were scheduled to head to Scripps Park in Rushville Thursday to face Liberty, Pittsfield and host Rushville- Industry.
On Monday, the team is slated to play in the Quincy Notre Dame Tournament at the Quincy Country Club.
