Reviewer’s Name: Annette Hamm Reviewer’s Occupation: Office Manager Book Title: Confronting the Classics: Trations, Adventures and Innovations Book’s Author: Mary Beard I liked this book more than I thought I would, given that it was not what I expected. I was not really expecting a book of book reviews, which, on its face, does not seem like it would appeal, but I did enjoy it and would recommend it to anyone with a strong interest in ancient history. Dr. Beard is a strong reviewer who does not pull any punches and is not afraid to point out where the authors she reviews could have done better. Along the way, she provides much food for thought.
