Opalene (Opal) Stambaugh, age 80, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026 at The Lamoine in Macomb. She was born on December 15, 1945 in Astoria, the daughter of Orville and Fern (Thomas) Trone.
Opal’s services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Matthew Thiner will officiate. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 5, from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Astoria, Illinois. Memorials in Opal’s memory my be given to the Blessing Hearts Dominican Republic Trip. Shawgo Memorial Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
