Hope G. (Knight) Clark, 78, of Macomb, passed away peacefully at 2:34 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026, in Oregon, IL.
Hope was born on July 8, 1948, in Macomb, to Kenneth and Mabel (Brown) Knight. She grew up in the Macomb area and built a life centered on hard work, family, and caring for those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, William “Bill” Clark; her siblings, Marilyn Geimeia, Donna Wardell, Robert Petty, Michael Petty, and Ernie Petty; her stepson, William “Billy” Clark; and her lifelong childhood friend, Lucy Pendley.
Hope is lovingly remembered by her special daughter, Trixy Dace of Oregon, IL; her grandson, William Colby Clark Dace of Oregon, IL; her granddaughter, Amber Clark of Macomb; her great-grandchildren, Larissa Clark and Jaxton Dakin, both of Macomb; her stepson, John Clark of Bushnell; her cherished friends, Wilma Reimolds of Norman, Oklahoma and Dianna Clark of Macomb; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Throughout her life, Hope was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to every role she held. She worked for many years as a secretary at Brodie Weston Company. Alongside her husband, Bill, she proudly co-owned and operated the Waterfront Bar in Dallas City, Illinois, for seven years. She later served as a cafeteria aide at Macomb High School, where she enjoyed working with students and staff.
Hope was a generous, hardworking, strong-willed, and compassionate woman. She took great pride in maintaining an immaculate home and enjoyed shopping, but nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her family and friends. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a meal, or simply being present for those she loved, Hope’s greatest joy came from caring for others. Her love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered always.
Hope will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester.
Funeral Services will be at 11:30 A.M, Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Jones Mortuary in Colchester, burial will follow the services at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 P.M, to 7:00 P.M, Friday, August 7, 2026, at Jones Mortuary. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30 A.M, to 7:00 P.M, Friday, August 8, 2026. Memorials can be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
