Ronald Lowderman, 77, of Macomb, Illinois, peacefully passed away on July 24, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
Ron was born May 11, 1949 to Wayne and Eloise Lowderman in Macomb, IL. Ron attended Western Illinois University and leaves behind a legacy of laughter, hard work, wisdom and unconditional love for his family and friends.
Ron is survived by his wife Charlotte (McKinney) Lowderman whom he was married to for 56 years. Their years of marriage were built on love, partnership, laughter, and unwavering devotion to one another.
Ron is survived by Kimberly (Matt) Lund, Mark (Laura) Lowderman, and Kristi (Clayton) Schmidt. He was a proud “Papa” to Aidan Lund, Jaxson Lowderman, Claire Lowderman, Alexandra Schmidt, and Nolan Schmidt. His greatest joy was spending time with his family as he cherished every moment spent with them. Additionally, Ron is survived by his brother, Jack (Sherry) Lowderman, and sister (in-law) Alice (Mike) Vacala, along with several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Wayne and Eloise Lowderman, sisters Linda (Bob) Henkle and Nelrose (Ray) Wooldridge.
Ron proudly served his country in the National Guard before building a career defined by determination and entrepreneurship. Ron started his professional career out by working alongside his father Wayne through managing the Lowderman Mobile Home Park family business. He then went on to sell insurance for Country Companies, earned his real estate license and opened Lowderman Realty, worked for Whalen Manufacturing, Farm King, and eventually built Jefferson Street Storage to help keep him occupied during retirement. Ron was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Macomb Country Club. He believed in working hard, treating people fairly, and maintaining his integrity.
While many will remember Ron for his sense of humor, those who knew him best also knew they could count on him. He gave the best advice, always knew when it was time to be serious, and had a way of putting life’s challenges into perspective. Whether someone needed guidance, encouragement, or simply someone to listen, Ron was there. His family knew his wisdom was every bit as valuable as his jokes.
Ron will be remembered as a man who could light up a room with a joke, surprise you with a prank, and then quietly offer the exact words you needed to hear. He taught those around him to work hard, laugh often, keep your word, and never take life too seriously. His life was measured not only by the businesses he built or the work he accomplished, but by the countless lives he touched with his generosity, wisdom and humor.
As family and friends remember Ron, they’ll no doubt tell stories that begin with laughter and end with gratitude. His laughter will be missed, his stories will live on and if something seems just a little out of place, well… he’d probably want you to wonder if he had one last prank up his sleeve. He will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, Donations in Ron’s memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, St. Paul School or the Macomb Bomber Booster Club.
The visitation will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Macomb, Illinois on August 15, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. The funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the graveside service immediately following at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb. Pastor Cheyanna Losey will officiate.
