Friends Feeding Friends has completed another year of serving our Bushnell community. It has been our pleasure to provide a free meal once a month at the Community Christian Center (CCC) 355 West Main, Bushnell, IL. On the fourth Tuesday of the months August though May, we serve a meal to the public from 4:30pm – 6:30 pm. With the exception of December, when we help fill and distribute food boxes.
A free-will offering is accepted, but not expected at each meal. Friends Feeding Friends has representatives from each of the local churches in the Bushnell area and The Crossing in Macomb. These dedicated Christians have planned, prepared and served meals for nine months this year.
We have donated a share of the free-will offerings with the Lion's Club, Bushnell swimming pool, B-PC Education Foundation, Bushnell Food Pantry, Bushnell Patriot Flag Group, Youth for Christ, B-PC Backpack Program, Community Christian Center, and the Bushnell Public Library, totalling $2,900.
We have enjoyed having speakers each month for messages and awareness of resources in our community.
Youth for Christ volunteers have helped set up chairs and tables and most recently, Marshalltown employees have volunteered to set up and take down chairs and tables on meal days.
We will begin next year on August 21,2025 during the Fall Festival. A big thanks goes to everyone who has supported us so generously and volunteered their time and God given talents.
