I use the Upper Room Daily Devotional Guide and sometimes thoughts resonate with me. Part of a prayer this week stated “Guide us to create a society where every individual has access to a dignified life and a promising future”. In my opinion, the current administration does not understand this concept. The new budget strips the basic needs from many people. Everyone should have enough food, medical care, affordable housing, the right to the social security they have earned, the freedom to read what they want to read and so much more. Our department heads have been chosen because of their loyalty to one man, not on their qualification for the job. When this budget passes, as it will because one party controls the entire government, we will have much to answer for. Our food pantries are going to have to provide food for even more people, our medical care is in jeopardy because without government reimbursement, many hospitals and nursing home are going to fail. It is not in the best interest of the people of America to cut so many programs which provide the bare minimum for many people so that a few can have even more. Pray for our nation and our people but also help out where ever you can. Aid the organizations that are trying to support those in need of the basic necessities of life.
Saw in the paper that a long-time friend had passed.
Duane McKee was the son of Louise McKee who helped us greatly to get started in the antiques business. On Monday many emergency sirens were heard in Plymouth and a helicopter flew over my house three times. Heard later that a gentleman had been killed by a train.
Very sorry to hear about these events.
Attended the Legacy Theater’s show, Jim Curry’s “Take Me Home: The Music of John Denver”, on Saturday evening.
The theater was packed. The show was great. The band members Anne Curry, Tom Williams, Christoper Wills and Larry Ruckman were outstanding musicians. Many friends and neighbors were in the audience including Judges Evans and Clark. Great evening.
Monday, Plymouth celebrated Veteran’s Day with a ceremony on the Plymouth Square followed by a pot luck lunch to which everyone was invited. Thank you.
Sunday included a visit to the Alpaca Beach Party just east of Plymouth. I was amazed at the number of people who were there to enjoy the animals, the crafts, the beach and just visiting with friends. So many alpacas to see and meet.
If you haven’t attended one of these parties, you should consider attending the next one. So cute.
Think more summer like temperatures are arriving this week. Enjoy the weather. The new moon this week has been lovely. Hope you got to see it. Be kind to those you meet.
You never know what problems they may be facing. Scatter Kindness and Love where ever you may find yourself.
