Township Assessments Continue

Macomb City Township Assessor Glenda Bryan told the township board Monday that she has finished the 2026 township assessment books and has turned them over to the county supervisor of assessments, and she has started collecting data for 2027 assessments.

Macomb City Township Supervisor Angela Markley reported that 19 general assistance applications were handed out in June and that eight July interviews have been scheduled Twenty-seven general assistance cases were reviewed in June. There were two denials and decisions on six cases are pending.. Seven men and five women were determined to be employable while two men and one woman were determined to be medically exempt from employment. Six men and seven women have disability applications pending.

The township supervisor reported that $8,202 in general assistance funding was distributed in June. The largest allocation was $6,818 for shelter expenses.
