The purpose of the session was to discuss, and take action on, the performance, discipline, or removal of one or more city offices, and vacancies in public office. After nearly two hours of deliberation, the council returned from executive session whereupon Council member Donna Wetzel moved that the city, “upon Mayor Mark Clark’s recommendation, remove one city collector’s position and direct the mayor to send appropriate correspondence.”
Currently, the city has two individuals serving in capacity as collectors. The council approved the motion on a 6-0 vote.
Clark indicated that there are no current vacancies in public office. Wetzel moved that the item be removed from the agenda and no action was taken.
