TNT-LOC
A new Macomb Summer Farmers Market booth is now in business both on Thursdays and Saturdays. Tina Park, her husband Joseph Stapleton, Tracey Kreps-Rivera, Amy Depoy and JoanI ( pronounced Joan-eye) Akkerman, sell under the name of TNT-LOC. TNT Body Potions and Candles refers to Tina and Tracey, and the LOC comically refers to her husband Joseph being “left of center.”
Tracey Kreps-Rivera was looking for something natural to make body butters and she tapped Tina’s knowledge on herbs and natural remedies. After coming up with their base formula they found something hydrating, antibacterial, and antimicrobial - the key was neem oil they added in. The duo then added to their line butters for specific remedies, such as their Bruise Buster, which is great to break down bruises and easing sprain pains since it’s infused with amica. They also have Arthur Ease to assist with those muscle and nerve pains. It is infused with both amica and lavender herbs with frankincense essential oil as well. They are using beeswax from Pleasant View Farms (local) in the butters.
Tina and Tracey have all ingredients labeled on their body products and all body products are also dated. Tina Park was a candle maker in New Mexico and owned a business there called Lucretia’s Creations. Tina is carrying on the tradition of making all natural candles that are affordable to all people. The candles and wax melts are made from soy wax so they are natural and burn clean. They are done with essential oils to offer the aromatherapy benefits, as well keeping them all natural.
TNT sometimes shares her booth with up and coming crafters who are just learning to sell. Amy Depoy does beaded jewelry, bracelets and keychains. JoanI Akkerman crochets blankets and does diamond painting, as well as hats and leather patches.
Tina and her husband, Joseph Stapleton make up the LOC part of their business title. Joseph can make on his 3D printer such articulated figures as snakes, fish, dragons and other items. Some of his 3D products glow in the dark. He also engraves plaques and is in the process of creating three set commemorative items in honor of the 250th anniversary of the country. They also sell bookmarks, dog tags (chains available for an extra $1), leather key fobs (key chains), leather iron on patches, and he’s working with vendor Man Cave Creations (local) to create boxes for special orders or whatever strikes his fancy. Joseph’s list of possibilities is long as he can produce about anything asked for.
Tina is enjoying the summer farmers market and already is making plans to set up at the winter market.
TNT-LOC will also be set up on the Spoon River Drive at Bernadotte and is in the process of configuring an online shop, which she hopes to have up and running by winter. She is in the process of learning of other venues and hopes to set up at the Macomb Altrusa Holiday Bazaar.
